Multimedia in the era of Pervasive AI

AI is becoming more and more pervasive. We are surrounded by devices whose capabilities significantly rely on artificial intelligence and multimedia processing. Consider for instance, smartphones, Alexa, Google Home, streaming services, smart camera, game consoles, etc.

In the panel, we will discuss the future of multimedia modelling, analysis, and processing in this context. We explore the opportunities, the advantages, and the possible threats. Where is research heading? Is there space for improvement, leveraging on multimedia, or we already push it to the limits? Where do we see major advancements in AI and multimedia, comparable to what was introduced by deep learning
